City Council Report:  Kate Greer reported that Plant Kingdom’s Andy Smart had removed the dead tree on the East side of Ambridge.  He has ordered a replacement that will be installed in late Fall.  He has also talked to the owner of one of the trees planted on Indian Ridge.  It died.  Plant Kingdom will replace it at cost as it died over a year after it was planted.

New Business:

2018-19 Work Plan:  (1) The arborist will identify areas that need trees.  We will also continue replacing trees planted by the City when they die.  Any trees planted will be supplied with water bags.  The Tree Board will contract with Brownsboro Landscaping or Lawn Co to fill them as needed.

(2)  Continue Windy Hills Horticultural Advisory Group (WHHAF+G) resident tree program.

(3)The Board would like to get the Council to agree to reduce the Arborist budget to $900 and add the extra $500 to the regular account.

(4)  Arbor Day for 2019 will be Sunday, April 14; 2-4 P. M..     We have budgeted $300 for it.

Arbor Day will be made up on Sunday, September 23,between 2-4.  It will be held in conjunction with the Ice Cream Social, shredding, Tai Chi, and recycling demonstration..

There will be a scavenger hunt involving tree identification (educational component), and coloring books for children.

The next Tree Board meeting will be Thursday, October 11, at 7:00 P.M. at Cheri Silvey-Slusher’s home on Killeny Place.
